This Privacy Policy explains what information virtualaltaf.com (the “website”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The website is operated by Altaf Hussain, a freelance virtual assistant (“I”, “me”).
Information I collect
- Contact form: your first name, last name, email address, subject and message.
- Calls and messages: if you book a call through Calendly, or message me by email or WhatsApp, I receive the details you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number and the time you choose.
- Usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site you came from. This is collected automatically using cookies and similar technologies.
How I use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and provide the services you ask about.
- To schedule and hold calls or meetings.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve it.
- To measure the results of my marketing, including on LinkedIn.
Cookies and third-party services
The website uses the following third-party services, which may set cookies or collect usage data under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics 4 (through the Site Kit plugin) and Google Ads conversion measurement, to see how visitors use the website and which ads work.
- Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form, to block spam. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag, which helps measure visits that come from LinkedIn.
- Calendly, if you choose to book a call.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message me there.
- Google Maps, shown on the contact page.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the website work. Links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Upwork take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Advertising and measurement
I may run paid ads, for example on Google Ads or LinkedIn, to reach people who might want virtual assistant services. To see whether those ads work, the website uses Google Analytics 4 and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to record which pages you view, which ad or link brought you here, and whether you take an action such as clicking the phone, email or WhatsApp links, submitting the contact form or booking a call through Calendly.
This data is used to measure results and improve the website and ads. It is not used to identify you by name. Google and LinkedIn may also use the data under their own privacy policies. If I later add remarketing, which shows ads to past visitors, I will update this page first.
You can limit this tracking by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings, using a browser privacy mode, or using Google’s opt-out tools at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout and the ad settings in your LinkedIn account. You can also email me to ask what information I hold about you.
Sharing your information
I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with service providers that help run the website and my business (for example hosting, email, scheduling and measurement tools), and when the law requires it.
How long I keep your information
I keep contact messages and call details for as long as needed to respond to you and to keep reasonable business records, unless the law requires a longer period.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask to see the personal information I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or limit how it is used, or to withdraw consent. To make a request, email connect@virtualaltaf.com.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no website or method of transmission is completely secure.
Children
The website is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
